Understanding Service & Life Beyond the Uniform
As a veteran, I understand the meaning of service, sacrifice, and the bonds that are created through shared experiences. I also understand that coming home from service—or spending a career serving as a first responder—doesn't always mean the challenges are over. The stresses of life, the memories of difficult experiences, and the demands placed on veterans, first responders, and their families can follow them long after the uniform comes off.

Helping Heroes Outdoors
Our mission is to provide veterans and first responders with opportunities to step away from the pressures of everyday life, reconnect with the outdoors, build friendships, and create positive memories with people who understand what service means. Just as importantly, we want their families to be part of that experience.

The outdoors has a unique way of bringing people together. Whether sitting quietly in the woods, sharing a meal around a campfire, enjoying a day outdoors, or simply talking with someone who understands, these experiences can create connections that last far beyond the outing itself.

Helping Heroes Outdoors isn't just about an outdoor experience. It's about people.

It's about the veteran who needs a reason to get outside and reconnect. It's about the first responder who spends every day helping others and rarely takes time for themselves. It's about the spouse, parent, or child who has stood beside their loved one through the challenges of service. And it's about creating a community where everyone knows they are valued, respected, and supported.

We also believe that the outdoors should be accessible to everyone. That's why we are committed to creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities, including accessible outdoor experiences and equipment that can help more people participate.

I started Helping Heroes Outdoors because I believe that serving those who have served is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back.

This organization is built on gratitude, respect, and the understanding that heroes need support too.

My hope is that Helping Heroes Outdoors continues to grow into a community where veterans, first responders, and their families can find friendship, encouragement, and a place to simply breathe, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors.

I am proud of where this journey began, but even more excited about where it can go.
